CAMP WARE CUB SCOUT
OVERNIGHT RESIDENT CAMP

The purpose of Cub Scout camping is to have fun and to create a desire to continue to camp.  The Chester County Council offers Cub Scout Overnight Resident Camps for Wolf,  Bear and Webelos Scouts.

Cub Scout Overnight Resident Camp offers Wolf and Bear Achievements, electives and many of the Webelos Activity awards.  Webelos Scouts have the opportunity to arrive a day earlier, participating in a program specifically designed to earn tough pins and complete advancements towards their Arrow of Light.

Webelos Scouts will get a taste of what it is like to camp as a Boy Scout by visiting Camp Horseshoe, outpost to a remote part of camp and participate in a special campfire and dinner.

Webelos choosing not to attend the extra day and come with the rest of the pack for the four day session, will still receive an exceptional program focused on advancement.  It is possible, though, that they will not accomplish quite as much or experience some of the extra activities just for Webelos.

Cub Scout Overnight Resident Camp does not necessarily focus on advancement as much as Webelos Overnight Resident Camp, but rather has many fun activities with numerous advancements in the mix.  A list of Achievements and Electives earned will be available when you leave from your session.

Cub and Webelos Scout Overnight Resident Camp includes activities such as camping, campfires, swimming, a polar bear swim, one cookout meal, archery, bb-guns, hikes, ecology study, star study, Scout's Own religious service, sports games and much more.

R
EGISTERING FOR OVERNIGHT RESIDENT CAMP ~ Easy as 1 - 2 - 3 . . .

As a pack, collectively choose the dates you want to attend - complete and submit your Save-A-Date form along with the required $50 reservation fee.

Collect and submit a $35 deposit for every camper (that's Scout & adult) attending camp by March 15, using the deposit form.  No worries . . . campers can still attend if they are not part of your original deposit numbers.

Collect and submit the balance for each camper using the appropriate rate and fee form (see bottom of page) based on when money is sent.  The Save-A-Date fee and all deposits are applicable to your final total fees.  Members of the pack can still sign-up after final payment has been submitted, they will be responsible to pay the appropriate fee based on due date.

Are you a parent and Scout unable to attend with the rest of your pack or perhaps, sadly, no one else from the pack is going to resident camp?  No problem!  Just use the forms at the bottom on this page to register independently.  It is not necessary to save-a-date, by sending your deposits by March 15, your spot will be reserved.  Then just simply send in your balance to join us for loads of summer camp fun!

THIS YEAR'S THEME . . .

A spent cast of Superheroes will look to arriving Scouts and leaders for help adjusting back to normal lives as camp staff after defeating their latest, greatest nemesis.  As night approaches, the "Camp staff" will begin the process of preparing their Scout side-kicks through entertaining as well as educational stories, skits and songs . . . all in an effort  to prepare for the next  threat that may challenge the Ware Superheroes.

Our Superheroes and their newly recruited side-kick's adventures will continue the following days, as all Scouts and leaders help to create a new league of Superheroes, learning what it means to be a "True Hero"!  With the skills and virtues learned through different Superhero training (Scout skill building activities), evil will be vanquished and Camp Ware will be saved!

As immediate and tangible evidence of their training, Scouts will collect special gems (beads) from our Superheroes home planet during program sessions to mark their successful participation in the daily activities, efforts to help others succeed and group participation.  They will be a given an energy band (string) to harvest their gems as a reminder of their achievements.  Every Scout will leave Camp Ware feeling accomplished and recognized!

Leaders will leave Camp Ware with a written record of each Scout's achievements.  Click here for the proposed 2012 Cub & Webelos achievements.
